Our studios, labs, and academic spaces give students across disciplines and programs access to the very latest equipment, tools, and technology.
The Lab
From thoughts to reality. An environment for artists, designers, and critical thinkers to go from manifestation to realization.
The Lab, sometimes referred to as the Print Lab, serves as an interdisciplinary hub and universal resource, MassArt community, including output, printing, and scanning services, computer labs and instructional technology spaces, and academic technology training and support for students, faculty and staff.
The Lab supports specific program needs and requirements and interdisciplinary activities, and reflects the realities of professional work environments for artists and designers as closely as possible. Lab users can access a variety of technology resources, including software, computers, printing and output devices, scanning devices. These resources are configured and made available to support electronic design (print and Web) and prepress, animation, digital illustration, photography, video and audio, interactive multimedia, 3D modeling and rendering, and animation.
Staff members, many of whom are artists or designers, and our student lab monitors are always available to provide assistance and help minimize the difficulty of using the technology and printing.
Someone with a degree in art is trained to offer totally new perspectives on situations where others might not necessarily have that same viewpoint.Clint Baclawski '08 MFA Photography
