Our Mission

Our mission is to effectively communicate the values, achievements, and stories of MassArt to a wide audience, including prospective students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, and the general public. We aim to enhance the college’s reputation and visibility locally, nationally, and internationally.

What We Do

The Marketing and Communications Office serves as a resource for the entire MassArt community, responsible for advancing and protecting the college’s reputation.

MassArt’s dynamic brand identity system embodies the diversity and creativity of our community. For members of our community we’ve curated a versatile toolkit—complete with logos, colors, typefaces, and more—empowering you to craft distinctive and cohesive communications that are unmistakably MassArt.

We develop and implement strategic communication plans that align with MassArt’s goals and objectives. Our team oversees the College’s communications platform and ensures consistent and compelling messaging across all channels. We facilitate college-wide communication with faculty, students, and staff and advise other units on effective marketing and communication tactics.

We manage and protect the MassArt brand, ensuring that all communications reflect the college’s identity and values. This includes establishing and maintaining editorial and design standards and overseeing branding guidelines.

Our media relations efforts focus on building and maintaining relationships with journalists and media outlets. We coordinate all media relations on behalf of the college and work to secure coverage that highlights the achievements of our students, faculty, and alumni.

We oversee development and maintenance of the College’s website and primary marketing platforms. We create and manage digital marketing campaigns to engage with our audience online. This includes social media, email marketing, and search engine optimization (SEO).

Our team produces a wide range of content, including news stories, press releases, videos, and photography. We provide editorial oversight for college publications and aim to tell the compelling stories of the MassArt community.

We promote and support a variety of events, from exhibitions and lectures to fundraising events and community outreach programs. Our goal is to increase participation and engagement.
