Moving In & Moving Out

We’ve loved having you here! Get ready for a great summer ahead!
As you prepare to move out of the residence halls, please carefully review the information below to ensure you know what to expect. If you have any questions, please reach out to your building Residence Director (RD) or send an email to housing@massart.edu.
All resident students will check-out with the security desk at their respective residence hall. They will return their keys and complete the express check-out form. Residents who do not check-out and vacate their room the deadlines listed above will be charged a $150 improper check-out fee.
Planning for Move-Out
Planning ahead for move-out is essential to make it go smoothly. Please be aware that MassArt does not rent bins like we do for move-in, you should bring a dolly or hand truck to assist in moving your items out. We do have a limited number of bins available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are working with a private storage company, please ensure you schedule pick-up of your belongings at a time where you are present for the pick-up.
First Year Students
All first year students must move out within 24 hours after their last academic commitment or by Wednesday, May 14th at 7pm, whichever comes first.
Upper-class students
All upper class students are expected to move out within 24 hours after their last academic commitment or by Wednesday, May 21st at 7pm, whichever comes first.
Graduating Seniors will be given an extension until Friday May 23rd at 7pm to move out of the residence halls.

The Extended Stay Request form will be available in THD beginning on Friday, April 4
You will be assigned a time to move-in that will be emailed to you along with other detailed information, in early August. We ask that you please honor the time slot you are given to help make this day go smoothly for all students. If you are unable to make your pre-assigned slot, you will be allowed to check in from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on your assigned day. Due to necessary preparations, no one will be allowed to move in prior to 7:00am on their assigned day.
Move-in is an idling unload/drop-off process. The process of unloading must occur while the student is checking into their residence hall. We will have students available to help during this process. Once the car is unloaded, you will be directed to a nearby parking lot.
