Amanda Brandt is a Massachusetts-based writer, editor, and educator. A recipient of the 2021 Christine White Award in Memoir/Essay, Brandt holds an MFA in Nonfiction from Goucher College and a BA in French and English (Nonfiction Writing Concentration) from Lake Forest College. She thrives on curiosity, research, and finding connections between unlikely entities. She approaches writing as a form of translation and appreciates the difficulty in converting one’s knowledge and experience into text that fully conveys the intended meaning. Brandt has spent much of her career working as an editor in educational publishing, guiding authors from concept to publication.

In the MassArt Humanities program, Amanda Brandt teaches Thinking Making Writing and Literary Traditions.
