MassArt’s Architecture Chair, Patricia Seitz, discusses her role as co-founder of the Global Design Initiative for Refugee Children in a recent segment on WBZ News Radio. The Boston-based program creates portable playgrounds for children in refugee camps and conflict zones, addressing a critical yet often overlooked need: safe spaces to play.

Designed in Boston and built around the world—from Lebanon to the U.S.–Mexico border—the playgrounds provide children moments of joy and healing amidst crisis.
