Cocktails, Art and Music Collide for Courtland Club Beverage Director Laura Ganci

MassArt alumna Laura Ganci ’18 MFA was recently profiled by Rhode Island Monthly for her work as a mixologist at the Courtland Club in Providence. Ganci is known for her creative spirit-making and cocktail menu ingenuity, and she’s known for creating a seasonally-driven cocktail list each month.
While bartending, Ganci is busy pursuing her other passions. She is preparing for an exhibition in Boston that involves a sound installation this February. Her grad school work involved sound installation, where she would assign speakers to different voices and encorporate them into space. The show is called “the Hour of Lead,” and it includes a handpicked group of people from her cohort from MassArt.

“The show is an artist’s response to Covid, but specifically around the scenes of grief and sort of how we all have individually moved through that time…it’s more about sharing in this collective vulnerability of grief.”
