Re-admission Candidates
Ready to re-apply to MassArt? We’re thrilled to have you rejoin our vibrant community. Here’s an overview of how the process works for re-admissions candidates.
Students who previously attended MassArt’s BFA program, withdrew before completing their degree, and would like to return should call the Registrar’s Office at (617) 879-7272 for more information. In many instances, a student will need to reapply to the College.
Re-admission Application Process
Candidates seeking readmission can apply for either the Spring or Fall semester.

Applying for Financial Aid
You should apply for financial aid at the same time you apply for admission — don’t wait until you receive your admissions decision. You’ll only need to fill out one application — the Free Application for Federal Student Aid — to apply for financial aid. Learn more about the FAFSA.
There is no application fee for re-admission candidates.
Submit an ApplicationYour essay is a chance to share why you left MassArt, what you’ve been up to since, and why you’re seeking re-admission now.
For readmission, you should submit a portfolio showcasing at least 15 pieces of your work. These could highlight skills from your time at MassArt or from your professional and educational experiences since.

If you attended any institutions after leaving MassArt, you must submit official transcripts.
In order to be considered official, transcripts can be sent one of two ways:
- Directly to MassArt in an envelope stamped and sealed by a college registrar
- Submitted digitally directly from the college to the Admissions Office at admissions@massart.edu
Transcripts submitted by the student are not considered official.
