Report a Concern
Working hand in hand with our community to keep MassArt safe.
While MassArt’s partnership- and community-focused approach to campus safety has led to a low crime rate at the College, it’s important to remember that our campus is most secure when each member of the community is doing their part to look after one another.
The Office of Public Safety at MassArt is proud to provide dedicated, round-the-clock service, and we depend on MassArt students, staff, and faculty to proactively contact us with any concerns so that we can respond promptly.
In case of an emergency, please call (617) 879-7800 or come to the Public Safety Office on the second floor of the Tower Building.
Help Us Keep MassArt Safe
As MassArt community members, we are each responsible for our own safety as well as the safety of those around us. We urge students, staff, and faculty not to hesitate to report any questionable activity to Public Safety, and we ask that members of our community minimize risk by alerting safety personnel to the dangerous use or storage of equipment or hazardous substances. Even small actions like closing doors, locking windows at the end of the day, and securing your personal belongings reduce the opportunity for theft and trespassing and help keep our campus secure.
If any member of the MassArt community witnesses a crime or observes a situation that is likely to result in injury, it should be reported at once either to a security officer posted in a building or via one of the emergency phones distributed across campus.
The Office of Public Safety recognizes and takes seriously our obligation to provide students and employees with accurate and timely information concerning incidents or conditions that may pose a threat. With the help of the community, we can pursue our ultimate goal of preventing any unfortunate incidents from happening in the first place.
Harassment, Violence, Stalking, or Retaliation
MassArt strongly encourages anyone who experiences sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, or retaliation to report the incident so that the College can provide support and pursue an appropriate resolution.
MassArt prohibits and will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who makes a report. Victims have several options for reporting, including confidential reports, non-confidential reports, or no report. As a general rule, if MassArt receives an incident report, the report will be reviewed for an appropriate action. If you are unsure about someone’s duty to report, or ability to maintain privacy, please ask before discussing an incident.
