Re-admission Candidates

Students who previously attended MassArt's BFA program, withdrew before completing their degree, and would like to return should call the Registrar's Office at 617.879.7272 for more information. In many instances, a student will need to reapply to the College. 

To reapply, candidates must follow the guidelines listed below. Readmission candidates may apply for the Spring or Fall semester. The deadline to apply for the Spring 2024 semester is October 15, 2023; the deadline to apply for the Fall 2024 semester is March 1, 2024.

Applications for Fall 2023 are now closed. Applications for Spring and Fall 2024 will be available in September; please check back.

Applications for Spring and Fall 2024 will be available in September; please check back.

There is no application fee for re-admission candidates.

When reapplying, your essay should address your reasons for leaving MassArt, your activities while you were not enrolled, and your reasons for seeking readmission at this time.

Readmission candidates must submit a portfolio of at least 15 examples of work. This work may reflect the skills learned during your time at MassArt or during your professional and/or educational experiences since leaving MassArt.

Supplement your application with a résumé outlining your accomplishments and experience.

Please request a MassArt transcript be sent to the Admissions Office by emailing the Registrar's Office at registrar@massart.edu; there is no transcript fee if you are reapplying.

If you attended any institutions after leaving MassArt, you must submit official transcripts.

In order to be considered official, transcripts can be sent one of two ways:

  1. Directly to MassArt in an envelope stamped and sealed by a college registrar
  2. Submitted digitally directly from the college to the Admissions Office at admissions@massart.edu

Transcripts submitted by the student are not considered official.
