Studios

Immerse yourself in our dynamic fashion design studios, where creativity, innovation, and hands-on industry experience come to life.

Fashion Design students at MassArt immerse themselves in a dynamic learning environment, equipped with studio classrooms, computer labs, and an extensive fashion archive and resource room. Our dedicated instructional spaces foster creativity and skill-building, while industry-standard equipment and digital tools prepare students for the evolving world of fashion design.

In a bustling fashion design studio, a person skillfully cuts fabric patterns on a large table, surrounded by sewing machines and mannequins. The well-lit room is alive with scattered paper rolls and crafting materials, echoing the creativity found in MassArt Fashion Design Studios.
Studio Spaces

With open access to professional-grade sewing machines, sergers, and specialized equipment—including straight stitch, purl stitch, buttonhole, coverstitch, leather, and blind hem stitch machines—students gain hands-on experience in every aspect of garment construction. Beyond traditional techniques, emerging digital technologies fuel innovation, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration and new approaches to fashion design.

Guided by expert faculty who are professionals in the field, students refine their craft while exploring the endless possibilities of fashion’s future.

A creative fashion design studio features a room with clothes hanging on a rack in the foreground. In the background, a black-and-white photograph of a person standing with two elephants adorns the wall, adding an artistic touch to this vibrant space.
Fashion Archive

MassArt’s Fashion Design studios feature an extensive archive and resource room—housing everything from vintage swatches and pattern references to sample books and past student work—that students can access to inform their projects and see how industry practices have evolved.

As a Fashion Design student, you also gain full access to the College’s galleries and library collections, ensuring both hands-on and contextual research support.
