In its 2025 rankings, Money Magazine named Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) one of “America’s Best Colleges.” The recognition came after a rigorous evaluation of more than 700 schools, measuring quality of education, affordability, and outcomes after graduation — and MassArt stood out.

On quality of education, Money highlighted factors like access to faculty and the strength of the peer community. Research shows students thrive when they receive more individualized attention from faculty, and when they learn alongside highly motivated peers—a finding reflected in peer quality indicators like GPAs and test scores of first-year students.

Affordability was measured through student and parent borrowing, repayment ability, and the student loan default risk. With many MassArt students receiving financial assistance, the College continues to make higher education accessible.

For outcomes, Money considered earnings a decade after college entry and rates of upward economic mobility.
