(Translated) In Norse mythology, the Valkyries are warrior deities in the service of the god Odin and accompany the bravest heroes who have fallen in battle to Walhalla. Inspired by the role of these powerful mythological figures, the Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos has decided to dedicate her new work to a woman who has distinguished herself in society for her commitment to liberation from prejudice, male chauvinism and slavery.
