MAAM Executive Director Lisa Tung Talks with Jared Bowen on GBH’s The Culture Show

“I have not stopped thinking about it since seeing it.”  Jared Bowen host of GBH’s The Culture Show spoke with MAAM executive director Lisa Tung and artist Sandra Sawatzky about a work of Sawatzky’s that currently wraps around the entire second floor of the museum. Called “The Black Gold Tapestry,” it depicts humankind’s struggle with the environment. According to their conversation, it reads like a silent movie – no surprise since Sawatzky is also a filmmaker. The tapestry took 10 years to create.
