MassArt Student Cass Kansky Named 2026 Newman Civic Fellow

Campus Compact named MassArt senior Cass Kansky among its 2026 Newman Civic Fellows, recognizing their civic engagement and work supporting community health, equity, and access.

A fourth-year student at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Cass Kansky is passionate about advocating for their peers, fostering community engagement, and being a leader in their community. Cass pursues their interest in critical theory, mental and sexual health, and equitable access by serving as an Advocate with PULSE, a group of students who partner with our Community Health and Well-Being Office to create spaces and dialogue about health and wellbeing. Cass has also been an active member of CACP’s PartnershipWORKS student cohort, engaged in learning about the intersection of art, community, and social justice, as well as supporting day-to-day operations with organizational systems, event preparations, and design projects. Off campus, Cass works as a Research Assistant at the Harvard School of Education, and has worked with JM Goldson, which works to advance proactive public decision-making that balances preservation, progressive development, and social equity. They are also the Bonner Community Leader and Engagement Intern at the Fenway Community Center, which conducts community programming in civic engagement, wellness, and the arts.
