$2000 Internship Incentive Awards

Program year 2023-24

DEADLINE: Friday, May 17, 2024 by 5pm

Each year, MassArt awards 40+ $2,000 Internship Incentive Awards to undergraduate students.

The internship awards are need-based and are offered to help selected students off-set the cost of completing an approved credit-bearing internship. Selected students have not earned a prior Bachelor’s degree and are in good academic standing. There is no application - students who meet eligibility requirements are in automatic consideration.

Recipients of the award are selected by the Office of Student Financial Assistance in early June and awards are distributed by the end of June.

Student ELIGIBILITY
  • You must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program of study, have not earned a prior Bachelor’s degree, and be in good academic standing.

  • All undergraduate students with a registered internship are eligible, including MA, out-of-state, and international students.

  • Internships must be registered for credit following the requirements of the 3 elective credit Internship Program. This means they must  be submitted & approved through the Handshake platform by the internship deadline for the semester that the internship takes place. • The FAFSA requirement does not apply to international students. International students will need to complete a separate form to be considered for the award. This form will be sent to you after you have registered your internship for academic credit.

Selection Process
  • Undergraduate students who receive funding through this program will be selected based on financial need.

  • Priority will be given to students completing internships located within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. However, student internships in other U.S. states would still be eligible.

  • Internships that take place outside the USA are not eligible.

  • Priority is given to students who have not previously received this award.

  • Students are only eligible to receive one award per program year for one internship; the award only applies to the minimum of one semester/135 hours needed to complete an internship for academic credit.
