Wendy Jacob is an artist whose work explores the interface between the body and the physical world. Her works include sculptures, installations and performances; walls and ceilings that breathe, chairs that embrace, and floors that resonate with sub-audible sound. She has worked with engineers, architects, athletes and a community brass band, and is one of the founding members of the Chicago-based artists’ collaborative group, Haha.
Jacob’s works have appeared in the Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris; DOX Centre for Contemporary Art, Prague;Renaissance Society, Chicago; Whitney Museum of American Art, NY; and the XLV Venice Biennale, Italy. She is the recipient of fellowships from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study, the Arctic Circle residency program, and the Fulbright Scholar Program, United Kingdom, and was awarded the 2011 Maud Morgan Prize from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
