Scott Thomson is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and has been practicing for 9 years. Scott received his Master of Social Work from Boston College and his Bachelor of Social Work from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Prior to joining the MassArt community, Scott had worked at several non-profits serving the city of Boston and in private practice seeing young adults for individual counseling. Scott’s approach to counseling is relationally focused, building therapeutic relationships on care and trust. Scott pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy grounded in cultural competence and a strengths-based perspective. Scott’s clinical interests include working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clients. In his free time, Scott can be found in nature, playing video games, or trying new restaurants around Boston.
