Heather White is a studio jeweler and metalsmith whose wearable objects explore beauty and imperfection as corporeal expression. Her ideas of adornment challenge thresholds of traditional lost wax casting inviting unexpected results in the centrifuge, embellishing flaws with enamel, silver and gold.
She is represented by Jewelers’ Werk Gallery, Washington, DC and Mobilia Gallery, Cambridge, MA. Her work is included in major collections throughout the United States including the Museum of Art and Design, NYC, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Rotasa Foundation, CA.
Professor White is also a Fulbright Scholar, curator and lecturer. Her on-going lecture series was recently presented at New York City Jewelry Week: “They Did What?!” Mid-Twentieth Century Studio Jewelers and How Their Groundbreaking Work Continues to Shape the Field Today celebrates women, people of color and the LGBTQ + community. Recent curatorial exhibitions include Adorning Boston and Beyond: Contemporary Studio Jewelry Then and Now, at the Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston.
