Every illustrator is a storyteller at heart. That’s why the MassArt Illustration program emphasizes understanding character development and narrative techniques.

Through a multidisciplinary approach, the Illustration program teaches BFA students to master the art of visual storytelling. Guided by professionals from a range of fields, you will develop strong visual communication skills through drawing and painting, learning to translate ideas and narratives into images for reproduction across analogue, digital, time-based, and interactive media. By graduation, Illustration majors produce a body of work that expresses their personal voice and showcases their artistic and storytelling abilities, preparing them for success in the professional world of illustration art.
