Since our founding in 1873, Massachusetts College of Art and Design has been committed to providing a forward-thinking and challenging education for talented and passionate students.
Today, we continue to evolve in response to the world’s changing needs, offering 18 undergraduate and 9 graduate programs, certificates, continuing education, and post-baccalaureate study—all taught by globally recognized faculty who work closely with students across our cutting-edge facilities in the heart of Boston.

BFA, Glass and Industrial Design, 2024
Olivia Foss is a Boston-based artist documenting the threats to coral reefs. Her work educates viewers on the complexities of reef life while highlighting the urgent risk of ecological collapse in an accessible form.

Linnea Pappas-Byers creates miniature model environments using printed paper, ceramics, and recycled materials. Her work explores themes of capitalism and climate crisis, focusing on their impacts on people and the planet.

Beverly Sky is a fiber artist specializing in handmade paper and fabric collage. Returning to MassArt to explore new techniques, her work reflects her research on sustainable practices and the environmental consequences of monoculture tree farms.

Heily Rivas Perdomo’s work centers on the intersection of quality craftsmanship and sustainability. This evening gown, made from leftover fabrics, is inspired by the vibrant colors of a supernova, reimagining waste materials into high fashion.

Ana-Sofia Sarmiento is a multidisciplinary artist exploring family heritage through art. Her series “En Mente; Hecho con Amor” (In Mind: Made with Love) revitalizes heirlooms, reflecting on memory, preservation, and her role as a familial archivist.

Sophie Yale’s work focuses on eco-conscious living and sustainability. As an architecture student, her goal is to create a balance between nature and humanity, promoting changes in how we interact with the environment.

Sera Begay’s non-textile project “Erè” draws inspiration from her Indigenous heritage. Using plastic, masking tape, cardboard, and hair wefts, she crafts an armor-like bodice and skirt that merge tradition with contemporary fashion.

Mallory Roy’s wearable art is inspired by the natural beauty of Maine. Her shell dress, with 2,850 shells carefully hand-placed on a muslin base, combines modern fashion trends with organic forms to create a wearable sculpture.
