New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE)

NECHE is an institutional accreditor recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. They promote educational excellence and quality assurance to over 200 institutions located in the United States and internationally. NECHE has established Standards for Accreditation to guide higher education institutions that help them ensure quality, innovation, and student success.

National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB)

NAAB is the sole agency authorized to accredit professional degree programs in architecture in the United States and serves as an impartial organization to facilitate quality assurance in support of architecture programs that prepare students for professional licensure.

Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP)

CAEP assures quality in educator preparation so new teachers enter the classroom ready to teach effectively. The focus of accreditation is on evidence-based analysis for continuous improvement to ensure institutions produce successful educators. Another source of support to educators in championing justice and excellence in public education is the National Education Association (NEA).

Professional Licensure & Certification

Professional licensure and certification requirements vary from state to state. Licensure and certification in one state do not guarantee automatic licensure in another state.

MassArt offers courses and programs that may lead to professional licensure or certification in states outside of Massachusetts. Students in programs that lead (or may lead) to out-of-state licensure or certification should speak to their MassArt Academic Advisors and/or Program Directors about licensure requirements.
