Vicki Klupchak, LICSW (she/her)

Vicki Klupchak is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who earned her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, MA in 2014 and has an undergraduate degree in Psychology with concentrations in Mental Health Services and Women’s Studies from Worcester State University. Prior to coming to MassArt, Vicki worked at the Justice Resource Institute for 9 years, which included working as a clinician in both an intensive group home for young adults and in a therapeutic day school with students who had significant social and emotional concerns along with learning disabilities. Vicki has extensive experience in crisis intervention and facilitation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion trainings in educational settings and is dedicated to providing culturally responsive and inclusive treatment and direction for the MassArt Counseling Center. Vicki uses a strengths-based, trauma-informed and relational approach to therapy. In her free time, Vicki enjoys cooking plant-based meals and baking sourdough bread, ping pong, swimming, playing with her two dogs, and going to concerts.

Scott Thomson (He/Him)

Scott Thomson is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and has been practicing for 9 years. Scott received his Master of Social Work from Boston College and his Bachelor of Social Work from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Prior to joining the MassArt community, Scott had worked at several non-profits serving the city of Boston and in private practice seeing young adults for individual counseling. Scott’s approach to counseling is relationally focused, building therapeutic relationships on care and trust. Scott pulls from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Narrative Therapy grounded in cultural competence and a strengths-based perspective. Scott’s clinical interests include working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clients. In his free time, Scott can be found in nature, playing video games, or trying new restaurants around Boston.

Laura Bustos Ortiz, LICSW (she/her)

Laura is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who completed her education at Boston University, earning an MSW from the School of Social Work as well as a BA in Sociology with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Laura is interested in a holistic, feminist, and social justice-oriented approach to psychotherapy that acknowledges the larger systems that may interfere with an individual’s well-being. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative and strengths-based in order to help students at MassArt feel supported and empowered. Her clinical interests include helping students navigate interpersonal relationships, generational trauma, identity development, and life transitions. As an immigrant from Colombia, she is also interested in unpacking the effects of intersectionality and immigration on mental health. In her spare time, Laura enjoys taking naps, watching movies, playing video/board games, watching futbol, and going to concerts.

Jessica Visconti is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and expressive arts therapist. Jessica completed her education at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Expressive Arts Therapy with a minor in Psychology, and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling with a Specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy. Prior to coming to MassArt, Jessica has worked as an outpatient therapist, developed CreativeGrounding, an arts and mindfulness based program with Bristol Community College. Additionally, she has worked in outpatient substance abuse treatment, and other community based work in the greater Boston area. Jessica is passionate about mental health advocacy and finding creative ways to help students connect with community resources. Outside of mental health work, Jessica enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking and eating new foods, dancing, traveling, and spending time at the beach.

Nicole holds a B.S. in Communications with a concentration in Advertising from Salem State University. Prior to joining MassArt, Nicole worked with assisting first-generation and low-income high school aged youth at a college access program for six years. She also worked at various publishing companies in sales and marketing. In her spare time, Nicole enjoys baking, cooking, reading, traveling, and attending book events.

Hallie Brown (they/she)

Hallie Brown is a clinical trainee with MassArt’s Clinical Training Program, and is currently pursuing their Master of Social Work (MSW) at Boston University. She previously completed her undergraduate education in psychology at Smith College, with a minor in gender studies. Prior to joining the MassArt Clinical Training Program, Hallie worked as a research assistant studying teen depression, volunteered with the Trevor Project, and served as an intern at a drop-in center for unhoused youth. Their clinical interests include supporting queer young adults through identity exploration, depression, and suicidality. Hallie’s therapeutic approach includes components of harm reduction, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and the Liberation Health Model, rooted in a strengths-based perspective. In their free time, Hallie enjoys fiction writing, running, yoga, fiber arts, and spending time with her orange cat.

Corinne Gray (she/her)

Corinne Gray is a second-year graduate student at William James College, with a concentration in couples and family therapy. She is originally from California and earned her BS in Criminal Justice and Psychology from Northeastern University. Her clinical interests include helping individuals across the lifespan with friendship, family, and relationship struggles, anxiety, and self-esteem related concerns from a person-centered and strengths-based perspective. She has gained clinical experience working in a psychiatric hospital for adults and adolescents and completed her practicum at the Boys and Girls Club in Allston, where she supported both elementary and high school aged students with academic and social concerns, while also assisting with art programs. Outside of school and the counseling center, Corinne enjoys trying new recipes, watching reality TV, painting, and spending time with her friends.

Jess Pham is a second-year clinical social work masters student at Boston College. Prior to studying social work, she completed a BS in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University. Previously, Jess completed practicum at a partial hospitalization program working with adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders as well as Veteran and First responder populations. She identifies as Vietnamese American and has lived experiences as a first-generation college student. Jess is passionate about serving individuals, particularly those with BIPOC identity, improve well being, navigate relationships, and build self esteem. Jess is also committed to advancing social justice both through direct practice and advocating for systematic and policy change. Her work integrates elements of attachment theory, multicultural frameworks, and social justice principles. Outside the therapy room, Jess enjoys catching up on new anime releases, reading web comics, and baking sweets!

Carrie Shirley is a second-year clinical social work intern currently working towards her MSW at Boston University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Massachusetts Lowell. Prior to joining MassArt, she interned as a case manager at Greater Boston Legal Services. She has also worked mentoring autistic young adults and on the NAMI HelpLine, which provides resources and emotional support to people struggling with mental illness. She is particularly interested in working with young adults and neurodivergent and queer populations. When she is not at work, Carrie enjoys reading, making arts and crafts, and spending time in nature and with animals.
