Boston, MA — June 30, 2025 — Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jeevan Ramapriya to its Board of Trustees. A leader in public service and international business development, Ramapriya brings deep expertise in global trade, policy, and community engagement to the College’s governing body.

Ramapriya currently serves as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI), the state’s lead agency for foreign trade promotion. In this role, he is responsible for advancing foreign direct investment into the Commonwealth, supporting export opportunities for small businesses, and maintaining relationships with more than 60 foreign consulates and international trade agencies.

His background spans both the public and private sectors. Prior to his appointment at MOITI, Ramapriya served as Managing Director of Regulatory, Industry, and Government Affairs at State Street Bank and Trust Company, and as Deputy Chief of Staff to a Massachusetts State Senator, where he led policy work in areas including economic development, transportation, and public safety. He began his career as a technology consultant with Accenture. Ramapriya is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and holds an Executive MBA from the TRIUM Global Executive MBA Program, a partnership of the London School of Economics, HEC Paris, and NYU Stern.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jeevan to the MassArt Board of Trustees,” said Mary K. Grant, President of MassArt. “His global perspective and experience across sectors align powerfully with MassArt’s mission to prepare artists, designers, and educators from diverse backgrounds to shape the future—for the common good. I look forward to the insight and energy he will bring to our community.”

MassArt is the nation’s first and only independent public college of art and design. The Board of Trustees plays a vital role in stewarding the institution’s mission and future, ensuring access to a world-class art and design education for students from every background.

Daren Bascome, newly elected Chair of the MassArt Board of Trustees, also shared his excitement about this appointment. “Jeevan’s track record of connecting across industries and borders will be a tremendous asset to the Board as we continue to guide the institution forward. His presence strengthens our collective ability to advocate for the creative economy and support the next generation of artists and changemakers.”
