Karen Keane, longtime head of the Skinner auction house, and Daren Bascome, founder and of the marketing firm Proverb, appointed as Board Chair and Vice Chair of MassArt
Among Keane’s goals as chair of MassArt’s trustees: getting the word out about the college’s legacy as the country’s only publicly funded standalone art college. State officials created the college in the 1870s to teach fine art, in large part to train people to come up with designs for the textile mills across the state.
