We understand you may be navigating uncertainty as you consider your path forward. MassArt is committed to working closely with Hampshire College students through this transition and helping you make informed decisions about what comes next.
Choose the option below that best fits your situation. We have extended the application deadline for Hampshire students and ask that you submit all application materials by June 30, 2026.

Fee Waiver: We will waive your application fee. Select “MassArt Fee Waiver” on the Common App.
Essay: We will waive the personal essay. Simply include “Transfer from Hampshire College” so you are able to proceed with the application.
Official Transcripts: Please submit your official college transcripts. Students who have not completed Division II must also submit official high school transcripts.
Letter of Recommendation: A recommender will need to be listed on the Common App in order to proceed with the application submission. We can waive this requirement once you submit your application.
Portfolio: Students are encouraged to submit up to 15–20 pieces of artwork that best represent their interests and experience. Transfer students should include work from studio courses they’ve completed, if available. We recognize that every student’s experience is different and are happy to work with you if you are unable to meet these guidelines—please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Yes – we are committed to ensuring housing options are available for Hampshire College students.
Yes, you can still apply for financial aid. Approximately 85% of MassArt students receive some financial aid through a combination of grants, scholarships, work, and loans. Students must complete the FAFSA and CSS Profile.
