Bethany Strohm is a Boston-based educator and fiber artist. In addition to teaching in the Humanities department, she also works with the Artward Bound program at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where she has supported the artistic and academic development of high school artists since 2012. Her graduate studies focused on the transition period between high school and art college, exploring how students discover identity and community as they enter college.
Outside of MassArt, Strohm spends her time in the studio. Her sculptures combine organic and geometric forms through the language of basketry, weaving together math, play, and humor.
At MassArt, Bethany Strohm teaches the first year writing course titled Thinking, Making Writing, and the first year seminar titled Art Spaces & Belonging: Exploring Boston.
