Receiving Your Aid
Don’t be held in anticipation.
The processes for receiving your aid can be complicated. Whether you are an incoming student, or a returning student, we have laid out the various ways that you will receive your aid.
Incoming students who have been accepted by the Admissions Office and file the FAFSA by March 1 should receive a financial aid package in Financial Aid Self Service by April 15 or earlier (prior to the date by which accepted students must notify Massachusetts College of Art and Design of your intent to enroll). Please note: If you are selected for verification, you will receive an estimated financial aid package until you submit any requested information to Student Financial Assistance.
Returning students who file the FAFSA by March 1 should receive a financial aid package in Financial Aid Self Service by June 15. Please be aware that your financial aid will be placed on hold if you are not meeting the criteria for satisfactory academic progress. Returning students who are selected for verification will need to submit the requested information before they may receive their financial aid package.
How to Accept Your Financial Aid
Once you have received your financial aid package you will need to accept or decline the aid offered to you and sign your Offer Letter in Financial Aid Self Service.
COMPLETE ALL NECESSARY LOAN APPLICATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS
The Federal Loans offered to you as part of your financial aid package require further action in order to be credited to your account and disburse. Instructions for completing the Federal Loan process are outlined in your Checklist in Financial Aid Self Service.
