JOBS for Students
- Students will see open positions in August/September as well as those posted at other times of the year depending on the hiring timeline for individual offices.
- Positions are available both on campus and off campus through MassArt’s Center for Art and Community Partnerships (CACP).
- Students should read the job descriptions for the positions they are interested in very carefully, for example, some positions may require the student to be eligible for workstudy, or in a certain major or year of study.
MassArt’s Center for Art & Community Partnerships (CACP) employs students to be productive citizen artists and designers whose work has a positive impact in society. Through CACP’s PartnershipWORKS program, MassArt students work with community organizations as teachers, designers, illustrators, and more.
Total Hours and Pay
Most positions for students, both on campus and through MassArt’s Center for Art & Community Partnerships (CACP) are between 5-10 hours a week. The combined number of hours you work in the MassArt student jobs you accept should not exceed a total of 20 hours per week. This total number of hours should allow for a balance of work hours and class/studio hours. This agreement also allows the greatest number of students to benefit from the limited number of student positions available. Undergraduate student positions pay $15/hour.
Hiring Managers often request a resume from student applicants. You will want to have a current resume in order to apply. Here is our resume template for First Year Basic Student Resume.
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT SHOWCASE (SES)
Each year, in early August, all new and current students are invited to attend MassArt’s Student Employment Showcase. Hiring Managers from MassArt offices and departments, offer 30 minute information sessions about the jobs they typically hire students for, their hiring timeframe during the upcoming academic year and answer questions from students who attend the showcase. The Student Employment Showcase takes place on the Handshake platform and all new and current students can access Handshake using their MassArt user name and password to register and participate in the Showcase.
If you miss the Student Employment Showcase, you can watch recorded sessions here to learn more from offices that frequently hire students.
