Massachusetts College of Art and Design Releases Update

All classes to be taught remotely and residence halls to remain closed through remainder of semester 

March 16, 2020 — Boston, MA – Today Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) delivered updated instructions to all students, faculty, and staff, in light of the progressing COVID-19 public health emergency. 

  • As of Monday, March 23, all classes will be taught remotely through the end of the semester.

  • Residence halls will remain closed for the rest of the semester.  The process for requesting an exception for housing for the balance of the semester will be communicated to students tomorrow (Tuesday).

  • Students will receive information soon for retrieving their belongings.

  • Staff and faculty are asked to work remotely until further notice.

  • At this time, no decisions have been made about Commencement or other large scale events.

  • The MassArt Art Museum will remain closed until further notice.

This announcement follows the College’s decision on March 11 to suspend all campus activity March 16-20.
