JET Student Leaders

JET Student Leaders are integral to the achievements of the JET office, its programs and initiatives. They provide outreach and support to their peers and provide critical feedback to aid the college in achieving its goals for equity and inclusion.

Abdullah Adisa (he/him/his) is a junior in Fashion design and an international student from Nigeria. Apart from fashion design, he also has a love for film and graphic design. Apart from being fluent in English, he is also fluent in his native tongue; Yoruba. Since moving to Boston, he has become very passionate about the place of international students as artists in our community and giving the space for them to show their work as they want them to be seen. Apart from being a JET Student Leader, he is also a Lead Primer and enjoys meeting new students and guiding them through their journey into MassArt just like his Primer did for him!

Xavia Hill Prater (she/her/hers) is a senior majoring in photography while completing a minor in creative writing. She uses the two art forms to bring together different narratives of family history and her own identity. When Xavia isn’t creating photographs or writing poems and vignettes, she’s usually reading or exploring other mediums such as painting and audio recordings. Throughout her time at MassArt, Xavia has been on a few committees; taken a role in SGA; and will also be an Orientation Primer for the 2021-2022 class welcoming and getting to know first-year students.

Laura Gonzalez (she/her/hers) was born in Tampa, Florida and is currently a junior double majoring in Sculpture and Art History. She has been involved at MassArt previously as a Primer and is also part of the Iron Corps. She is passionate about helping and supporting her own communities, but those around her as well. Additionally, she’s looking to utilize the things she’s learning in her academic career and JET to support her lifelong goal of bringing art to communities where art is often inaccessible, but necessary.
