Sharon has taught courses in Painting, Drawing, Collage, Mixed Media Installation, Color, Light and Visual Language in the Studio Foundation Department. In addition, she has taught Major Studio courses in 2D Fine Arts and Art Education. On the graduate level, Sharon is currently teaching, “The Interdisciplinary DNA, Human Codes and Culture” course and the MFA-BLR Major Studio.

Industry Experience

Since graduating from college, Sharon has researched and documented transcultural artistic traditions in Cuba, Nicaragua, the United Kingdom, Finland, Nigeria, and Ghana. She first traveled to Cuba in 1979 with anthropologist Johnnetta Cole to research the African base of Cuban culture. In 2008, she was an Artist-in-Residence at the University of the Creative Arts, Hasselblad Digital High Resolution Center in Rochester, Kent, United Kingdom.

Sharon has held positions as Visiting Lecturer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Visiting Assistant Professor at Pennsylvania State University, Assistant Professor and Visual Arts Coordinator at Wheelock College, Assistant Professor and Arts Coordinator at Massachusetts Bay Community College, and Professor at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design since 1978.
