All visitors are required to check in and check out at the College’s main entrance at the Design and Media Center or the neighboring Kennedy Building. Visitors from the Colleges of the Fenway and ProArts Consortium schools are required to show security guards their college IDs upon entry. Guests of current students are permitted to enter residence halls. All of our dining facilities are open to the general public and provide a speedy and convenient option for grabbing a bite while on campus.
Building Hours
Monday through Sunday, 7:00am – 12:00am
During holidays, administrative offices are closed and there are no classes in session (except for some exceptions for students enrolled in Professional and Continuing Education programming). Studio access for current students remains available from 7:00am-12:00am.

College Closures due to Weather Emergencies
College Closures will also be announced via MassArt’s Instagram as well as on massart.edu. MassArt uses Rave, an emergency management notification system to announce campus closures to the campus community due to inclement weather or an emergency.
The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) services Greater Boston and most of eastern Massachusetts by commuter rail, rapid transit, commuter boat, buses, and light rail. The MBTA provides direct service to MassArt by both bus and the Green E subway line.
- Subway Green Line: Travel on the Green Line’s E train and exit at Longwood Medical Area.
- Subway Orange Line: Take the Orange Line and exit at Ruggles Station. From there, MassArt is about an 11-minute walk via Huntington Avenue. Or, after getting off the train at Ruggles Station, board the CT2 bus bound for Kendall Square and exit at Huntington and Longwood Avenues.
- Bus: The following bus routes include stops at or near the college: #39, CT2, #65, #8, #47, and #66.
- Commuter Rail: The closest stop via commuter rail is Ruggles Station, though the commuter rail provides access to all subway lines. From there, MassArt is about an 11-minute walk. Alternatively, after getting off at Ruggles Station, board the CT2 bus bound for Kendall Square and exit at Huntington and Longwood Avenues.
From Mass Pike East, Route 90:
- Take exit 22, Prudential Center/Copley Square
- Stay to the left (Prudential Center)
- Follow the ramp to Huntington Ave.
- Continue straight on Huntington Ave. to MassArt on the right, two blocks after the Museum of Fine Arts
From the South, Routes 3, 24, 93:
- Follow route 93 north (Southeast Expressway) towards Boston
- Take exit 19, Mass Ave.
- Follow the ramp to the first set of lights, crossing Mass Ave. to Melnea Cass Blvd.
- Follow Melnea Cass Blvd. to Tremont St.
- Turn left on Tremont St. and drive one block
- Turn right on Ruggles St.
- Follow Ruggles St. to Huntington Ave.
- Take a left onto Huntington Ave. and MassArt is one block up on the right
From the North, Routes 95/128, 93:
- Upon approaching the Boston city limits, take the Leveritt Cir. exit
- Follow signs to Storrow Dr.
- Travel Storrow Dr. to the Copley Sq./Back Bay exit
- Turn right onto Beacon St. and follow Beacon St. to Exeter St.
- Take a left onto Exeter St. and follow Huntington Ave.
- Take a right onto Huntington Ave. and follow it to MassArt which will be on the right, two blocks from the Museum of Fine Arts
MassArt is located in the Longwood Medical Area and does not have a public parking lot available for visitors to campus. Parking is available at several commercial public parking facilities near campus, as well as parking meters on the surrounding streets; hourly rates vary. Please note that MassArt does not validate parking.

Located on the west side of Longwood Avenue between Binney Street and Brookline Avenue, the garage is about a 9-min walk from campus.

Located on the east side of Longwood Avenue on Plymouth Street, behind Brueggers’ Bagels, the garage is about an 11-min walk from campus.

The above-ground lot is on the corner of Huntington Avenue and Wigglesworth Street across the street from the Brigham Circle MBTA stop. The lot is about a 5-min walk from campus.
- Museum of Fine Arts, 20 Museum Road, (617) 369-3657
The MFA has three self-parking options: the Huntington Lot, the Fenway Lot, and the Museum Road Garage, all of which have entrances on Museum Road, between Huntington Avenue and Fenway, adjacent to the Museum of Fine Arts. These lots are about a 6-min walk from campus.
