"STRANGE FRUIT" stop motion by Elcie Merck

Strange Fruit

"Strange Fruit" is a stop motion animation created by Elcie Merck. She created it her sophomore year at MassArt in the Animation 1 class with Professor Hayley Morris. "Strange Fruit" was made with found objects for the "Breaking the surface" project. This stop motion was made as a tribute to the song of the same title by Billie Holiday. It is a reflection of the Jim crow era of the rural south.
