Gain experience and get support with $2,000 Internship Awards for MassArt students

Each year, we award over 40 need-based $2,000 Internship Incentive Awards to help undergraduate students like you offset the costs of completing approved credit-bearing internships.

Automatic Consideration for Eligible Students

If you’re enrolled full-time, in good academic standing, and haven’t earned a prior Bachelor’s degree, you’ll automatically be considered—no application required. Our Office of Student Financial Assistance selects recipients based on financial need, with priority given to those completing internships in Massachusetts and students who haven’t received the award before. Awards are distributed in June.

How to Qualify and Register for the Internship Award

To qualify, you’ll need to register for a credit-bearing internship for 3 elective credits through the Handshake platform by the semester deadline. Both unpaid and paid internships are eligible, but retroactive credit isn’t accepted. While there’s no guarantee of receiving the award, it’s a great way to get support as you pursue professional, hands-on experiences that are an essential part of your academic and career journey.
