$2,000 Internship Incentive Awards

Each year, MassArt awards 40+ need-based $2,000 Internship Incentive Awards to undergraduate students to help off-set the cost of completing an internship for academic credit.

Student Awards & Fellowships

Dondis & Godine Travel Awards

The Donis A. Dondis Travel Fellowship & Morton Godine Fellowship are each one $5,000 award granted to graduating juniors or seniors to help defray the cost of traveling for the purpose of completing a well defined project having artistic merit.

Richard Aronowitz Senior Project Award

The Aronowitz Award is an $1,000 award granted to a rising senior (current junior) to support the funding of a senior project. Rising seniors from all majors are eligible to apply.

George Nick Prize

The George Nick Prize is a juried award given on the basis of merit and selected by a blind jury led by MassArt Professor Emeritus George Nick. The competition is open to all current MassArt students (undergraduate, graduate, and PCE), but it is restricted to original works done in drawing, painting, and printmaking.

The purpose of the George Nick Prize is to encourage emerging artists who create two-dimensional works — through observational abilities, drawing skills, and the understanding of the role of tone and color — that can be recognized in terms of subject and an emphasis on forms of realism. The total prize amount is approximately $12,000, to be split between the selected winners.

The Genevieve Mcmillan-Reba Stewart Traveling Fellowship

The Genevieve McMillan-Reba Stewart Grant is awarded to a graduating senior, printmaking major at MassArt. Genevieve McMillan established a fellowship in memory of her dear friend, painter and world traveler, the late Reba Stewart. Genevieve McMillan, an intrepid traveler herself, knew that MassArt students would benefit from an opportunity to travel abroad.
Senior printmaking majors are required to prepare a complete application. Alumni are eligible to apply up to two years after they graduate.

Harris Barron Scholarship

The Harris Barron Scholarship is awarded each year to a junior student, continuing through the senior year, in the Studio for Interrelated Media Department (SIM), selected by that department’s faculty, based on exceptional and/or innovative artistic merit with consideration for financial need.

SIM Majors that have completed 3 semesters of SIM Major Studio are invited to submit the following by April 1 to the SIM department chair: Cover letter, Artist Statement, Senior Year Plan, Portfolio.
