Ashley Norman is an artist, educator, and community builder with over 15 years of experience in public and community arts education spanning PreK through higher education. Her scholarship focuses on choice-based education and equitable teaching practices. In her studio practice, she works under the pseudonym Ashley Normal, where she explores: censorship, womanhood, mental health, class, and communication. Most recently her work was exhibited at the 86th Regional Exhibition at the Fitchburg Art Museum, Fitchburg, MA, and the George Marshall Store Gallery in York, ME. Norman obtained her MFA in Interdisciplinary Art and a BFA in Art Education from MassArt. Currently, she is a visiting scholar in Art Education at MassArt and the University of Southern Maine.
