If you submit a registration form and your preferred classes are full, you will be placed on the waiting list and notified as soon as possible if a space becomes available.
Scholarships are based on financial need and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to request a scholarship. To be considered, you will be asked to provide family financial information on the registration form (required).
Full program cost, less the deposit, will be refunded if the request to drop is received in writing to the firstname.lastname@example.org email one week prior to the start of the program. MassArt reserves the right to cancel courses in the event of an insufficient number of registrations. You will receive a full refund in the event that a course is cancelled for this reason.
Fashion Intensive (Grades 7-12)
This robust introduction to fashion design gives students an understanding of how a piece of clothing is created from concept to drawing to construction. Students bring ideas from the drawing board to completion. A final fashion show gives the MassArt community the opportunity to see the results. Please note that although it is not mandatory, fashion students are asked to provide themselves with a model throughout Xtreme!Week. This makes it possible for the student to show two garments during the final fashion show. A Model Release form, to be filled out by the parent/guardian of the model, will be sent with the orientation letter. Students will not need a model for the first day of class.
Drawing and Portfolio Development (Grades 9-12)
This course focuses on drawing — the heart of a serious portfolio. Students develop drawing skills using a wide variety of media by learning how to draw from observation, memory, and imagination. Class time is also spent looking at how other artists found ways to express their creative ideas. For sophomores, juniors, and seniors this class will be an opportunity to develop work for your portfolio.
