"When I went for my tour of MassArt in 2002 I felt like a kid in a candy store, I couldn't believe all of the opportunities.”

Ashley Norman is a Professor and Coordinator of the Art Education program at Plymouth State University. She has been teaching since 2005. In her art practice, she works in various media making observations in what is already there, illuminating the bizarre and absurd in the familiar. This reinterpretation of reality ties into the name she uses for her art, "Ashley Normal."

She has exhibited her art in both solo and group exhibitions, including STUDIO 659 in Whiting, Indiana; the Brooklyn Library in New York, and 3S Artspace in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Ashley practices her art daily in her studio in Chases Garage in York ME.
