"My time at MassArt was far from easy, I won't lie about that. But it was worth my time and I'm a better person and artist after going there. I am very grateful to Ceramics Studio Manager Tom Gothers. He is a huge mentor to me and constantly advised and encouraged me in so many of my endeavors. It is staff and faculty like him who have given me the understanding of what it means to be a career artist.
I chose MassArt because it was the only art college that was financially accessible to me. I paid for school entirely on my own (with the help of some federal loans) and was the first person in my family to go to college; I knew that I didn't want to be suffocated with debt when I graduated. One of my high school art teachers was an alum from MassArt and spoke highly of the facilities and the value of the school."
