Denmark has been a second home for Annie Silverman for the last 40 years. Her connection to people and culture has influenced Silverman greatly.

The impetus for "Danish Spoons," and the altered Danish History book, also with a strong spoon element, originated from the purchase of spoons from a charity shop in Denmark. The spoons signify a way of enjoying coffee and cake and making a “hyggeligt” atmosphere. 

Hygge is the underpinning of Danish life.
