Credit Courses for High School Students
MassArt encourages high school students to consider taking 100 or 200 level Continuing Education courses for credit. Students under age 18 must obtain permission of the instructor and can do this through Youth Programs. Credit may be accepted by the student's high school towards graduation requirements.
Students must submit a letter with their registration from a parent or guardian confirming that they have permission to attend evening and weekend classes.
- Be enrolled in a Massachusetts public secondary school or nonpublic school, including home school
- Meet all course prerequisites per the policies of the participating campus
- Have a minimum cumulative 3.0 high school GPA*
*Students who do not possess the minimum cumulative GPA may be considered eligible based upon demonstration of their potential for academic success through the participating campus' review of other appropriate indicators of success, such as steadily improving high school grades, a high class rank, special talent, strong grades in the field of the course, strong recommendations, etc.
Students who meet eligibility guidelines are not guaranteed participation. Participation is at the discretion of the faculty and subject to capacity constraints.
Funding from the Commonwealth Dual Enrollment Program (CDEP)is not available to cover the cost of Dual Enrollment classes.
High School students enrolling in Continuing Education classes must complete this Dual Enrollment Application prior to registering for the class to receive approval from the instructor.
