about Carbon Health Services

Carbon Student Health Services is a modern health clinic for easy everyday care, including walk-in, primary care, and mental health (psychiatric) medication needs, provided in collaboration with MassArt’s Counseling and Wellness Center.

Carbon Student Health Services is focused on making high-quality healthcare accessible and convenient. As a student, you can access care on your terms – whether you choose to walk in, call, or book an appointment online. In-person care will continue to be available at the Tree House clinic.

As a national provider of both urgent care and primary care, Carbon operates over 120 clinics across the U.S., employing over 1,000 healthcare providers. Students can access care at all locations nationwide, including Boston locations at Summer Street and Boylston Street (opening this fall). For all visits, the Carbon Health platform centralizes your health records, care plans, and serves as your communication portal with providers.

Carbon Health will bill students' insurance plans for all services rendered. Students must present their MassArt student ID cards and their health insurance cards at every appointment, just as they do when accessing their doctor's office at home.

Carbon Health is an in-network participating provider with major health insurers in Massachusetts including:

• Blue Cross and Blue Shield
• Cigna
• Harvard Pilgrim
• MassHealth
• MultiPlan
• United Healthcare
• Tufts Health Plan

If you don't see your insurance carrier, please give your health insurance plan provider a call to double check. The number can be found on your plan card. Service and benefit coverage vary based on geographic location.

Accessing Medical Records from Optum (MedExpress)

If you need to access your medical records from Optum (MedExpress) prior to July 2023, please visit medexpress.com/medical-records or call them at 304.985.3636.
