Megan Johnson, from North Kingstown, Rhode Island is an enthusiastic designer finding delight in everyday interactions with digital and printed media. Creatively solving problems both on and off screen, she strives to create a design experience that is truly unique, logical, and genuinely improves the lives of those experiencing it. Being a part of MassArt’s Compass program has allowed her to get the financial and emotional support to be successful at MassArt and beyond. Through this mentoring program students from untraditional backgrounds are brought together to support one another throughout the college experience.
She notes, "If it weren’t for Compass I don’t know how I would have made it through college. Compass has continued to be a core support system in my time here and if MassArt has taught me anything; its that compassion for one another fuels design and that design has the power to change the world. Don't let the constraints or rules of traditions hinder you from trying untraditional ideas. This learning experience has taught me three important ways to continue being a successful artist and designer; stay curious, stay wonderful, stay weird.”
