The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is one of the most popular museums in Boston. It's rich with history, art and plenty of plant life to discover. Unfortunately due to the lack of a labeling system (per Isabella's will) the museum is difficult to navigate and many of her treasures get overlooked. To enhance this museum experience, Megan researched and tackled these three obstacles: lack of accessible information about the artwork, lack of direction or flow throughout the museum leaving visitors overwhelmed and aimless, visitors wanting a takeaway from the trip since photographs are prohibited in most areas of the museum.
Megan's solution is an iOS application that allows visitors to curate the museum experience to their own interests and time restrictions. The visitor does this by creating their own museum tour or picking a pre-made tour. Once their tour is chosen, they are guided to and are able to learn more about the artwork they want to see. At the end of the tour the visitor has to option to create a photobook of all the artwork from the tour and personal photos from the trip and have it shipped directly to their house. Through this solution the museum experience is customized to the visitor's wants and needs without disturbing Isabella’s vision.
