"Reaching Out" is one of a series of six about bees that Natalie painted in Spring 2018. Three of the paintings focused on students' personal connections with bees, and the other three are about the bees connection with various different flowers.

"Reaching Out," in specific, focuses on the future of bees and the human population. There are two conflicting viewpoints at play. In one viewpoint, the human seeks to ruin the bee population. The other viewpoint evokes tranquility through clear skies as the human reaches to assist the dying population of bees. The viewer is encouraged to interpret the art as they see it.
