Rockland student, Norwell teacher, Design Toys for Elephants at Buttonwood Park Zoo
Professors Rick and Laura Brown's course Toys for Elephants brings functional toys to the elephants at Buttonwood Zoo in New Bedford, MA. "The toys are intended to entice the elephants to figure out how to get the food inside and to use some physical effort to make that happen. In their natural habitat, elephants spend about 18 hours foraging for food, reaching with their trunk and digging with their feet."
