Creative Business Incubator

The Creative Economy Business Incubator course is an eight-month cohort-based program that helps artists and designers to launch and grow creative ventures.

This program teaches foundational principles of entrepreneurship, strategy, marketing, and finance through practice and hands-on experience. Participants will spend two semesters developing, market testing, and refining a business idea with guidance and support from MassArt faculty and creative industry experts.

One of the Incubator cohorts, open to all artists who live or work in Boston, will be run through Professional and Continuing Education. The application deadline for this program was August 5, 2022.

For more information about this program, please visit the Creative Economy Business Incubator website.

Portfolio Reviews and Critique Groups

Knowledgeable feedback and critique are critical to an artist’s development, but can be challenging to access outside of a degree setting. This year MassArt and the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture will be offering portfolio reviews and critique groups led by MassArt Graduate Programs faculty.

These programs will be free of charge to Boston-based artists.

MassArt and The Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture of the City of Boston have partnered to provide free business and professional development programming for artists who live or work in Boston, as announced on the city's website in June of 2022.
