For the Fall 2023 semester, the College continues to employ rigorous cleaning measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as we have since March 2020.

Cleaning Measures & Frequency

  • Cleaning and sanitizing common and high touch areas is done continually from 7:00am - 11:00pm daily
  • Sanitization of occupied areas is completed daily between 11:00pm - 7:00am
  • Hand sanitizing stations are installed throughout campus

  • Ultraviolet (UV) disinfecting wands, which kill 99.9% of bacteria are used in areas where foggers and disinfectants are impractical
  • Disinfecting handheld fogger machines are used in office areas
  • Backpack disinfection machines are used in larger rooms, such as the Design and Media Center atrium, and Tower Auditorium
  • Wheeled disinfectant foggers are used in hallways
  • Air flow meters are used to test air flow from all unit ventilators and air handlers
  • Water testing equipment is used in all buildings to ensure safe, drinkable water
  • Kaivac machines are used to sanitize restrooms
  • Sneeze guards are installed in reception, security, cash register, and food service areas
  • All toilets are self-flushing and all sinks are hands-free
  • Hands-free openers are installed on many restroom doors
  • UV lamps are installed in the phone charging kiosks

  • Outside air dampers allow larger volumes of fresh air to enter our spaces
  • HVAC systems operate 24/7 for continuous air circulation
  • Over 70 new ventilation units have been installed in the Collins and Kennedy buildings to allow for the digital control of temperature as well as outside air coming into the building.
  • High-efficiency air filters have been installed in all air handling equipment
  • Portable air filter units with high-efficiency filters are used in spaces that require additional filtered air flow
