Artist Statement

My current work considers the materiality of my two preferred mediums: fibers and clay. The cocoons I create examine the multi-faceted and often starkly contrasted way in which the pandemic has affected me. I hold the trauma and grief of my experiences in the same hand as the newfound time and opportunity given to me because of these circumstances. Using the extremes of soft and hard, dark and light I create an ethereal environment in which I may process the complicated emotions regarding quarantine and isolation.
