Master of Arts in Teaching / Art Education
The MAT/AE program is intended for students who hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, possess a strong studio art background, and are interested in education. The program combines work in teaching methods, development, aesthetics, and studio processes. The MAT/AE program provides the coursework necessary for Initial and Professional Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Teaching licensure in Massachusetts requires passing the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL). Candidates for the MAT/AE program who are planning to seek licensure are encouraged to pass MTEL tests before they apply for admission.
Applicants are encouraged to submit all materials at the same time, in a single package, to facilitate processing.
